“Dr. Khanna was very supportive throughout the whole process and made everything easy to understand. I always felt free to call his office if I had any concerns. One year has now passed since my surgery and I am pain-free. I am back to all my normal activities including running. I am really happy with the spinal fusion and i appreciate everything Dr. Khanna and his office have done for me.”
“I was nervous about having someone perform surgery on my neck, but Dr. Khanna did a great job of explaining the procedure and the follow-up. I knew that fusions results in a certain loss of mobility, and I wanted to keep my movement. You never realize what the words ‘normal life’ mean until you lose it. Now I’m back to work, back to doing the things I enjoy, back to normal. And I can tell you, that’s priceless.”
“In spite of having two previous microdisc surgeries I spent only one night in the hospital following the procedure. The rehab after my MAS PLIF helped my recovery tremendously as this procedure was a little more challenging than the previous microdiscectomy. I’m thankful to Dr. Khanna and his team for the care I received. Today, I’m back to working out and playing volleyball with my friends. I feel like I can do anything within reason, and I’m happy to have my life back!”
“I like Dr. Khanna because he is straight, and to the point. He explains everything thoroughly and takes his time with his patients. He has never made me feel like nothing can be done with any of my issues and doesn’t jump the gun suggesting surgery is the only answer. He has great bedside manner and always makes me feel like my questions and care truly matter.”
“We were so glad that we were referred to Dr. Khanna. Mike had seen him first when Dr. Khanna had performed a neck surgery on him. He did such a wonderful job. Since I had been bringing my husband Mike to his appointments, Dr. Khanna had noticed something was happening with me. Turns out a disc collapsed and pinched a nerve. He did a microdiscectomy on me that worked temporarily. I then had a L4 SI fusion with an osteocell. He fixed me! Dr. Khanna is polite and so smart. I am glad to be a part of the Orthopaedic Specialists family and can honestly say that there is no one else quite like him. We refer him to everyone.”
“My name is Rick G and after months of pain and failed attempts at rehab I underwent a microdiscectomy performed on November 30th, 2017. Before my injury, I was fairly active and enjoyed running and playing golf. The pain I was experiencing did not allow me to do either of these things, along with most of my daily routine. Laying in bed a week or so after surgery, I decided to sign up for the lottery system for the 2018 Bank of America Chicago Marathon as a way to pick up my spirits and give me a long-term goal to strive for. I assumed like many that the attempt was a long shot. After hearing back that I was chosen I started planning out my long road to recovery that culminated a few weeks ago. I started walking on a treadmill 3 days a week in March and then eventually the walks became longer and eventually turned into short jogs. Over the course of 6 months, I worked my way through an abbreviated marathon training program with a few minor setbacks. I am proud to say that on October 7th I crossed the finish line as a first-time Marathoner. I am confident to say that without the skill, dedication, and positive outlook by everyone that I encountered last fall at your office and at the surgery center my accomplishment would not have been possible. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving me hope for a pain-free life and the inspiration to accomplish a life-long goal.”
“Thank you Doctor Khanna ... because of you I have been all over Europe just 7 weeks after surgery I have walked in Spain, France, Italy and today over 15,000 steps in Rome. 8 weeks ago, I couldn’t walk to my mailbox! No back pain at all. You are my miracle man!”
“Hi Dr. Khanna, l know you have a lot of patients, so I’m not sure if you remember me. I was referred to you for my workman’s comp case. You did a spinal fusion on my LS/S1 MAS PLIF. Everything went great and I am still doing amazing. I’m a runner and you suggested I only do light/shorter runs and I told you completing a half marathon and a full marathon was on my bucket list. Well, I have officially checked both off my bucket list! I ran the Hero Half Marathon September 2017 and I ran the Chicago Marathon this past Sunday! I am attaching a picture of me after both runs. I know I was a pain in your butt and probably one of your more noncompliant patients, but I just wanted to thank you for everything you did for me. Thank you for doing my surgery and giving me my life back. I feel better than ever and t do not think I would have ever been able to accomplish my goals had I not gotten the surgery to relieve my back pain.”
“Dr. Khanna, Thank you for giving me part of my life back. I feel great! My arm is like new! I can finally play the guitar again. I don’t know what I would do if I couldn’t enjoy my music. You truly are an angel. Every time I pick up my six-string I’ll always remember what you have done for me. ”
