One or Two Millimeters Makes A Big Difference

Every millimeter matters in spine surgery. Now there’s a new groundbreaking robotic platform to assist in performing robotic-assisted spinal fusion surgery on a patient.

“Robotics allow us to perform minimally-invasive surgeries with increased safety and precision, leading to less blood loss, less post-operative pain and faster recovery.”

This surgery was performed at Marcus Neuroscience Institute, located at Baptist Health Hospital in Boca Raton. And the first patient, a man in his 70s, successfully underwent spinal fusion to stabilize the lumbar area of his back. The surgery used the Mazor X™ Robotic Guidance Platform. The robotics platform assisted the surgeons by combining 3D pre-operative planning, robotic guidance and navigation assistance during surgery for precise placement of spinal implants and screws.
